This Mustang was originally Lime Gold Metallic, but the original owners changed it to Raven Black back in 1989.

Originally had steel wheels with hubcaps. I replaced those with period correct 1968 Styled Steel wheels (GT wheels).

I do not have the stock wheels.

The original radio had been replaced when I bought the car as well as the package tray speakers and the tray itself.

I have not updated those items.

The car has an alarm system istalled by the original owners.

I replaced and custom painted the grill ornament. I believe I still have a stock replacement.

Weatherstripping has been replaced. It could use a new windshield and new rubber around both the front and rear windows.

The trunk has been finished, including a new mat. There is a spare but it could probably stand to be replaced.

The car has many original parts, however, the driver front fender and front bumper have been replaced.

A towing company didn’t strap down the car correctly when towing it due to a broken clutch linkage rod.

The car lurched forward on the truck and wrinkled the fender and bent the bumper.

The rear lower valance has a small dent in it from a tap from a lady putting on lipstick in a toll booth line.

That occured while the car was still owned by the original owner.

I have a replacement that is included.

I can’t guarantee that the mileage is 80K or 180K, but in speaking with the original owners about 20 years ago it is accurate. It had ~75K on it when I bought it.

I have some documentation that will also go with the car. There is, unfortunately, no build sheet, but the buck tag is there as is the door plate and VIN tag under the windshield.

An interesting fact about the car is that it was built as a 289 car, but it has a 302 block.

The car was built during the transition from the 289 to 302 back in April of 1968.

So, my assumption is they ran out of 289 blocks and used a 302.

I have a picture somewhere showing the ‘302’ cast into the intake valley of the engine.

The upper and lower ball joints were replaced back in 2001.

I have owned this car since 2000. The car was traded to a wholesaler by the original owners. I purchased it from the wholesaler. So, I guess you could say it is a two owner car. The car runs and drives great, and I would have no problem driving this car cross country. A fun fact: A close friend of the original owners, Allan Sorsby, wrote a song about the car called ‘Ford 289’.
