1st gen red 1966 Ford Mustang coupe automatic For Sale.
1966 Mustang, 65A 2 door coupe, C code 289 V8 engine, built in San Jose, DSO Code 61 Dallas TX, axle 2.80:1, C4 Automatic, D8 interior, Z code paint, Dealer installed “Ford Factory Air”.
Purchased 7/16/1966 for $2502.30 in Dallas Texas by original owner. I purchased in April 2006. 2 owner vehicle, never been out of Texas.
Mostly original. Transmission was either rebuilt or replaced by AMCO, Motor was rebuilt, and car was repainted Red, all in the mid-70s.
PROs; All original brightwork – emblems – body panels – hubcaps – glass work – bumpers – gages – radio – Ford Factory AC – gas cap – lights – ashtray – and keys. No dash modifications, strut towers not modified, nothing significant changed under the hood. New front end, new gas tank, brake redone. Interior is nice. Some original paperwork present.
CONs: Runs and drives but needs work. Paint is rough. It’s an “all there” project for someone.
